So, one bright night after gazing at the stars I decided to do some research on which star I was looking at exactly. This star I had been admiring every night for some time was Sirius A. At that time, I was praying to God to help me find my purpose in life. I have been practicing jiu-jitsu since 2008 and my passion for this art was very powerful. I felt like God was leading me to change lives through grappling. God spoke to me that night and I began a journey to form a non-profit organization to change people’s lives though jiu-jitsu. I visualized a headquarters for mission’s work (SH), a tournament and invitational series (SG) and a martial arts gym (SA). Through these divisions we will make a difference. We are Sirius. We are following our hearts and passions and helping others, creating leaders, building up champions and changing the world.
“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” Matthew 2:1-2
Since the beginning of time we have been chasing Jesus. I have a passion for chasing after Jesus myself. A disciple is simply someone who believes in Jesus and seeks Him in his or her life. Originally of course a disciple was someone who literally knew Jesus in the flesh and followed Him. The magi left everything behind to follow the star of Bethlehem to Jesus. When I look up at night, I always see this sparkling bright start and it reminds me of my passion to follow Jesus.
